Rua do Conde de Redondo sits in central Lisbon, between Marquês de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade. It is a neighbourhood of people who live and work in the city, and you can fill a whole afternoon on foot.

Start at Parque Eduardo VII

Walk to the top of the park for one of the best views over downtown and the river. Then come down Avenida da Liberdade, with its shops and shaded terraces.

Art and history along the way

  • Avenida da Liberdade for shops and architecture.
  • Praça do Marquês de Pombal, the viewpoint at the centre of the roundabout.
  • The side streets, full of small local cafés.

End at the table

By late afternoon the quarter quiets down and it is time for dinner. We are at Rua do Conde de Redondo 2D, open every night from 5:30 PM to midnight. On Sundays there is live music.
